THE FUTURE OF THE IFBB: CHILDREN WORLDS IN NOVI SAD
IFBB Press on 12/06/2014 - 5:24 pm in News
by Andrew Michalak

Novi Sad and the Serbian Bodybuilding, Bodyfitness, Fitness and Aerobic Federation are ready to welcome the best children fitness competitors in the world, their trainers and parents. The Championships are promoted by the Sipka family: Zoran, Biserka and their daughter Zorana. As always, friendly, smiling and helpful, they create an unforgettable atmosphere of this very special and very important IFBB event. Why so important? The idea to organize a separate Children Fitness Championships was born in 2009 and the 1st Children Fitness Worlds was staged in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2010, with over 80 participants from 6 countries. Many of these girls already turned 16 and started their junior sport career. And many of them are successful also in the battles against much matured women fitness competitors.

The best example from the recent weeks are the 2014 Amateur Olympia top two: Nikolett Szabo and Dorottya Agoston, who dominated the children fitness scene last years and in their first battle against women, they won over the former world women’s champion! IFBB needs more such gifted young fitness stars and after five-year experience with children fitness we can say that through this initiative we can get it!

Last year’s Championships, with 90 athletes, set a record of participation but from the nominations sent to the Organizing Committee this year, we can expect a new record with 115 children. What is interesting, after many years with a few boys only, there will be 15 boys this year !

Regarding countries, children fitness is developed in Central and Eastern European countries plus… Mexico. So, Mexican girls will come to Europe this weekend but the IFBB top officials: President Santonja, the Tierneys and Pawel Filleborn will go… to Mexico, to run the inaugural 1st Amateur Olympia Latin America, with national team from Canada joining them.
