WADA PUBLISHES FIRST EVER ATHLETE REFERENCE GUIDE TO THE CODE
WADA, the World Anti Doping Agency, has published the first ever Athlete Reference Guide to the Code.
From the WADA website

WADA is pleased to announce the publication of the Athlete Reference Guide to the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code.

The guide, which will act as a crucial point of reference for all athletes looking to enhance their knowledge of the Code, has been championed by members of the WADA Athlete Committee throughout the course of 2013 and 2014.

The WADA Athlete Committee, whose job it is to represent the views and rights of athletes worldwide, have led and directed the project in time for the introduction of the revised Code at the start of 2015. The document – which is purely a guide, and will not supersede the Code itself – will help athletes the world over better understand the anti-doping framework, rules and regulations.

The guide provides an explanation of athletes’ roles and responsibilities, details of what constitutes an anti-doping rule violation, information on the Prohibited List and supplements, and details on matters ranging from the ‘Whereabouts’ rule to Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), amongst other topics.

WADA President, Sir Craig Reedie said: “Long in the making, the Athlete Reference Guide to the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code marks a significant step forward in ensuring that all athletes, no matter what sport they play or which country they come from, understand their anti-doping rights and responsibilities.”

“Many of the more technical aspects of the Code can be difficult to understand and, whilst the Code itself is still the legal document that athletes are held accountable to, this reference guide will help individuals better understand many crucial areas of anti-doping, from supplements to doping control, and the prohibited list to new terms such as ‘prohibited association’,” he added.

WADA Athlete Committee Chair, Beckie Scott said: “The WADA Athlete Committee members really championed, and provided the backbone to this guide. To me, it was crucial from the beginning that it would be a guide by athletes for athletes.”

“Anti-doping can be a taxing matter for many of us, and what this guide does is help shed light on some of the more tricky subjects within anti-doping. Through its improved rules, the revised Code is going to offer a real boost to the clean sport movement when it arrives in just over three months’ time. I am delighted that we now have this athlete guide to accompany the Code, and I look forward to helping promote its use in the months and years ahead,” she added.

The IFBB is a Signatory to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code and its anti-doping rules are in compliance with the 2009 WADA Code.

DR. RAFAEL SANTONJA RE-ELECTED IFBB PRESIDENT!

by Andrew Michalak

Top news from the 2014 IFBB Electoral Congress: Dr. Rafael Santonja was re-elected IFBB President for the next four-year term! The elections took place at the IFBB Congress in Brasilia, Brazil, held in conjunction with the 2014 IFBB World Bodybuilding Championships. The elections was the last part of the Congress, after all reports by the different IFBB Executive Council members, 2015 IFBB Calendar of Events discussion, IFBB Executive Council decision approval and discussion on different propositions provided by National Federations.

Dr. Santonja’s candidature was proposed by the Polish Federation President and delegate to the Congress Mr. Pawel Filleborn. No special presentation was needed as Dr. Santonja has held this position since 2006, when he was elected IFBB President for the first time, as a successor to the IFBB founder and first president Ben Weider. Then he was re-elected in 2010. During his fist two terms Dr. Santonja proved himself to be a very efficient manager, open-minded strategist and innovative leader, who moved the Federation up to a new highest level, never expected before.

Knowing well all these facts, delegates represented National Federations from all continents unanimously approved Dr. Santonja’s candidacy with great applause and standing ovation, giving him a mandate to run the Federation through the next four years. In the first part of the Congress Dr. Santonja delivered his annual President’s Report, covering not only the passing year but also the whole passing term. His tireless work and activity “24-hour per day and 364 days per year” as Mr. Albert Busek said, is amazing and has brought incredible successes: IFBB affiliates190 member countries, holds around 2000 events in a year worldwide, participates in more and more Games of the Olympic Program, is active on all continents, nowadays runs competition in 11 sport divisions (!), implemented many new top international events (like Arnold Amateur, Amateur Olympia, Ben Weider Cup), the biggest IFBB events have over 1000 participants, developed new media cooperation (Eurovision contract) to mention only the key points of the recent activity.

The latest example of Dr. Santonja’s activity: re-elected President has had no time to celebrate his electoral success, going directly from Brasilia to the Phuket Island in Thailand (16,700 km or 10,400 miles!) to participate in the 4th Asian Beach Games of the Olympic Program and supervise bodybuilding competition there, being a part of the Games

Just after the Beach Games in Thailand, our President will go directly to Moscow, Russia, to take part in the 2014 Amateur Olympia World Showdown with USD 50,000 prize money, and then will supervise the 2014 World Classic Bodybuilding Championships to be held in Benidorm, Spain. And, maybe, the next weekend will be free for him as there is… Christmas at that time. And then a new year will begin and new duties. Is it possible to have a better president? NO! Viva Presidente Santonja!

There would be no President Santonja and his tremendous activity without every-day support and assistance of his charming wife Nieves. Thank you Nieves!

4TH ASIAN BEACH GAMES RESULTS – VIETNAM WITH TWO GOLD MEDALS!
by Andrew Michalak

Vietnam won two gold medals at the just finished bodybuilding competition at the 4th Asian Beach Games. The other gold medals went to Bahrain, Iran and China.

All bodybuilders were tested for doping and no positive results occurred, so the results are final. Altogether, 106 athletes from different sports were tested at the Games, with no positive results.

Up to 162 cm category

After the semifinals Phanorn Onnim (Thailand) was the leader three points ahead of Ali Abdulrasool (Bahrain) but in the finals Abdulrasool over passed him and won the gold medal. On the other hand, Onnim had to defend his 2nd position against attacking current Asian champion Takahiro Mizoguchi (Japan) and maintained it, being clearly better in the third round (routine).

Up to 165 cm category

There was an undisputable leader in this class, 2006 South East Asian Games runner-up Hai Au Nguyen (Vietnam), who won all rounds with the perfect scores. Similar with the silver medal winner Sirigorn Khodkit (Thailand). Tangmin Zhao (China) was running a close battle against Tetsuya Hara (Japan) but after only one point advantage in the semifinals, he won both final rounds and bronze medal.

Up to 168 cm category

Very tough battle of the 2008 Asian junior champion Pha Se (Vietnam) and former world classic bodybuilding champion Seyedroohollah Mirnoorolahi (Iran). They were tied 12:12 in the first round but then one judge changed his opinion in the finals and Se slightly won the next two rounds. The next two places went to the famous Korean champions: 2012 World CBB Championships runner-up Kikwan Seol and 2010 world CBB champion Sungwon Kang, with bronze medal for Kang,

Up to 172 cm category

Two world champions in the line-up: Yeonseok Yang (Korea) and Javad Soltani (Iran). Soltani slightly won the first round, 2 points ahead of Yang and 3 points ahead of Huu Thuan Tran (Vietnam). In the finals Soltani was untouchable, winning both final rounds with the perfect scores. But Tran was able to outpoint Yang, grasping the silver medal. The latest Ben Weider Diamond Cup runner-up Maorong Ran (China) in the 4th position.

Over 172 cm category

The 2012 world champion Jehyung Ryu (Korea) was seriously challenged by the 2014 Ben Weider Diamond Cup winner Kang Cheng (China) and this time the challenger was successful. Bronze medal went to Worakorn Wongsakornmuaeng (Thailand) and the 4th place to Mohamed Yameen (Maldives) who finally was tied 67:67 with Damrongsak Soisri (Thailand), so the Relative Placement Method had to be applied.

Eastlabs.ru vahendab olulisemaid uudiseid sel nädalavahetusel toimunud IFBB Executive Council meetingult.

Light версия classic bodybuilding: «beach games bodybuilding».
SportAccord Convention World Sport & Business Summit set for Sochi, Russia, 19-24 April 2015.
  • Men`s Physique…
Вместе с WORLD CUP в Корее.

http://www.ifbb.com/small-modifications-in-bodybuilding-mandatory-poses

SMALL MODIFICATIONS IN BODYBUILDING MANDATORY POSES

The IFBB Executive Council has approved small modifications to Bodybuilding and Classic Bodybuilding mandatory poses. In general, the changes are in the area of leg placement. These changes are in force from the beginning of this year.
Let’s analyze them pose by pose.

1. Front Double Biceps
Standing face front to the judges, with one leg 40-50 cm forward and to the side, the competitor will raise both arms to shoulder level and bend them at the elbows. The hands should be clenched and turned down so as to cause a contraction of the biceps and forearm muscles, which are the main muscle groups that are to be assessed in this pose. In addition, the competitor should attempt to contract as many other muscles as possible as the judges will be surveying the whole physique, from head to toe.

2. Front Lat Spread
Standing face front to the judges, with the legs and feet in-line and up to 15 cm apart, the competitor will place the open hands, or clenched fists, against, or gripping, the lower waist or obliques and will expand the latissimus muscles. At the same time, the competitor should attempt to contract as many other frontal muscles as possible. It shall be strictly forbidden for the competitor to pull up on the posing trunks so as to show the top inside of the quadriceps.

3. Side Chest
The competitor may choose either side for this pose, in order to display the “better” arm. He will stand with his left or right side towards the judges and will bend the arm nearest the judges to a right-angle position, with the fist clenched and, with the other hand, will grasp the wrist. The leg nearest the judges will be bent at the knee and will rest on the toes. The competitor will then expand the chest and by upward pressure of the front bent arm and contract the biceps as much as possible. He will also contract the thigh muscles, in particular, the biceps femoris group, and by downward pressure on his toes, will display the contracted calf muscles.

4. Back Double Biceps
Standing with his back to the judges, the competitor will bend the arms and wrists as in the Front Double Biceps pose, and will place one foot back, resting on the toes. He will then contract the arm muscles as well as the muscles of the shoulders, upper and lower back, thigh and calf muscles.

5. Back Lat Spread
Standing with his back to the judges, the competitor will place his hands on his waist with his elbows kept wide, with the legs and feet in-line and up to 15 cm apart. He will then contract the latissimus dorsi as wide as possible. The competitor should make an effort to display the opposite calf to that which was displayed during the back double biceps pose so the judge may assess both calf muscles equally. It shall be strictly forbidden for the competitor to pull up on the posing trunks so as to show the gluteus maximus muscles.

6. Side Triceps
The competitor may choose either side for this pose so as to show the “better” arm. He will stand with his left or right side towards the judges and will place both arms behind his back, either linking his fingers or grasping the front arm by the wrist with his rear hand. The leg farthest to the judges will be bent at the knee and the foot resting on the toes. The competitor will exert pressure against his front arm, thereby causing the triceps muscle to contract. He will also raise the chest and contract the abdominal muscles as well as the thigh and calf muscles.

7. and Thighs
Standing face front to the judges, the competitor will place both arms behind the head and will place one leg forward or will keep the legs and feet in-line and up to 15 cm apart (optionally). He will then contract the abdominal muscles by “crunching” the trunk slightly forward. At the same time, he will contract the thigh muscles of the leg(s).

How to perform the mandatory poses after the above modifications is shown on the attached photos.

Ei saa aru, miks klassikas need muudatused sisse toodi. Niikuinii on jalad vabaseisudes sirged.
